Helmet, once hailed as post-hardcore icons, is now facing unexpected challenges on their current tour. Despite their rise to fame in the early and mid-’90s, the band has announced the cancellation of their upcoming North American tour. Even with a loyal fan base and a significant legacy, financial difficulties and low ticket sales have forced Helmet to make this tough decision.

According to Loudwire.com, Helmet decided to pull the plug on the tour after assessing the ticket sales and financial feasibility. The band expressed disappointment at not being able to meet the expectations of their North American fans but remains hopeful about hitting the road again in 2025 with better prospects.

Details of the tour cancellation

  • Main reasons: The cancellation is due to a combination of significant financial concerns and lower-than-expected ticket sales.
  • Immediate impact: The September 26 stop at Lovedraft’s Brewing in Mechanicsburg, among other scheduled dates, has been canceled.
  • Continuity in Europe: Despite the North American cancellations, the band will proceed with their European tour scheduled for November and December this year.
  • Future plans: Helmet intends to resume touring in the United States in 2025.

Helmet’s founder and frontman, Page Hamilton, expressed his frustration over the situation, highlighting that the band was excited about the tour but that current circumstances didn’t allow it to go forward as planned. However, Hamilton is optimistic about the upcoming European tour, which seems to be more promising. European fans can look forward to seeing Helmet live, while North American followers will need to wait a bit longer to catch the band on stage.

Helmet, which began its journey in 1989, has experienced various ups and downs over the years. After disbanding in 1998, the group reunited in 2003 and has remained active in the music scene ever since. With their latest album, “Left,” released in 2023, Helmet continues to assert their relevance in the post-hardcore world.

Despite the current challenges, Helmet remains dedicated to their music and fans. The band is looking toward 2025 as a comeback year in North America, with fans eagerly awaiting what’s to come. In the meantime, the band presses on with their projects, keeping the post-hardcore flame alive across Europe.
