Taxes are something that United States citizens always have to pay every year. The IRS, along with the Department of the Treasury makes sure that this is the case. For that reason, taxpayers need to make sure that they pay their taxes on time and that there is no problem with documentation.
In that sense, there are many taxpayers who need help when it comes to sending the documents to the IRS. These types of people can hire an advisor to help them with their paperwork. But you have to watch out when doing this, as you may put your money at risk or even receive a notice from the Commissioner of Internal Revenue, something no American wants to receive.
To avoid any kind of problem, the United States federal government, through the IRS, gives us a couple of recommendations that will help us. If we follow the recommendations given it is possible that we will not have problems with our Tax Return and with our money.
IRS recommendations to avoid problems with your Tax Return
These recommendations are general for all residents, even for those who have not requested any help from advisors or IRS workers. If you are thinking that you still have time to send the Tax Return, pay attention.
Never sign an incomplete tax return. Even if you pay a #TaxPro to prepare your #IRS tax return, you’re ultimately responsible for all the information in it. Learn more from this #IRSTaxTip: https://t.co/LWkQiFKVV3 pic.twitter.com/Nz9jEC10U9

Send your Tax Return on time
Tax season is almost over. For that reason, avoid delays and send your Tax Return to the IRS now. If you don’t do it on time, you could be charged a penalty of 5% of the tax for each month you are late. The last day we can send the Tax Return is April 19th.
Still, remember that you can ask for an extension of the Tax Season. In addition to that, there are some United States states that automatically have an extension of time accepted by the IRS.
Don’t sign IRS documents without completing them
If you seek help from an advisor, you may have to let them work on your taxes at some point. In that case, never sign documents before they are complete. Always wait for the advisor to finish completing the IRS Tax Season documentation.
Once the documentation is complete then you can sign it and accept the advisor to send it. And always check that everything is perfect and that there are no mistakes, as this can make you pay penalties in the future.
Don’t make mistakes
This is linked to the previous tip. Whether with help from an advisor or without any help at all, sending the Tax Return documentation to the IRS is very important. Therefore, making mistakes should be something we never do.
In the event that we make mistakes we can run into a lot of problems. We may not receive a Tax Refund from the IRS or we may receive a penalty. It is important not to make mistakes to avoid these problems.
