Social Security disability payments reach United States retirees on the same days as age retirement payments. When it comes to scheduling payments, the Social Security Administration determines on which day we can receive our payment depending on several factors related to each citizen’s personal information.
Therefore, if we want to receive the next of the disability checks it is necessary to take into account whether we belong to the group or not. This group has very specific characteristics, so we cannot belong to it without meeting the requirements. And the first of the requirements is to have applied for retirement after a certain year. Besides that, it is also mandatory to be born between a certain number of days.
Unlike the retirees before 1997, the beneficiaries after this date are divided into three different groups. In other words, the Social Security Administration divides disability retirees into two major groups and the second group is further divided into three groups. Post-1997 retirees are those in this second group.
Therefore, the first of these requirements is not to have the benefit since before 1997. So any beneficiary prior to that time will not receive the next of the Social Security checks. But this is not the only one of the requirements, as we have previously announced. Are you part of the next group of disability retirees?
Next group to collect disability benefits
Retirees who have applied for Social Security disability after 1997 could receive the next retirement check. To do so, they would have to have a birthday between the 1st and 10th of the month. This means that only beneficiaries born between the first ten days of the month, both inclusive, can collect the new check.
The day on which the Administration will make retirement payments to these beneficiaries is June 14th. Interestingly, it is still the second Wednesday of the month, as usual, but the payments are delayed until the third week. This is because the month started on a Thursday. Therefore, the second Wednesday of the month is in the third week, later than usual.
When will I collect my Social Security if I do not meet these requirements?
In addition to this disability or age retirement payment, Social Security will send out other checks within the month of June. In fact, there will be up to 6 different payments during this month. Some retirees may receive up to 3 different checks if they have Supplemental Security Income accepted.
In this regard, recipients who have both SSI and the benefit could be paid on the 1st, 30th and some of the other days. Social Security Supplemental Security Income payments arrive on June 1st and June 30th. The other day we refer to is the retirement payment. This other payment could arrive on the 3rd, 14th, 21st or 28th.
It all depends on whether we retired before or after 1997 and on our birthday. Remember to activate Direct Deposit if you want to have each of the checks instantly. If not, check the schedule for disability payments, but you will have to wait a few days before you can receive the benefit in your bank account.
So always pay attention to the calendar if you want to organize your household finances as effectively as possible. With just a little organization, you will know right away what your Social Security disability benefit payment day is.
