Each new month the Social Security Administration begins the payment schedule for retirees in the United States. Knowing exactly what day we will receive our retirement check is key if we want to know how much money we have to get through the month. The amount and the day we receive the money are not directly related, but the day we receive the check can influence our organization.
If we know when the Social Security Administration will pay our retirement check, we will have fewer financial problems. Millions of Americans have no other source of monthly income, so it is vital for them to know the Administration’s schedule. It is also worth noting that we should not have these retirement checks as our sole source of income, although that is up to each individual citizen.
In order to determine whether or not the next of the Social Security checks will reach our pocket we must meet two requirements. These two requirements are very simple to know and to understand. So we will not have problems to finally know the day of the collection of the benefit. And as a preview we can assure you that the type of benefit has nothing to do with the day of payment.
Requirements for collecting Social Security in 24 hours
In order to cash this Social Security check in 24 hours, three basic requirements must be met. Two of these requirements must be met in order for the Social Security Administration to send us the check. But it is different to receive it the instant the SSA sends the money. Let’s see what those requirements are:
Having Social Security since after 1997
Retirees in the United States are divided into two main groups when it comes to receiving a Social Security check. The first of these groups is pre-1997 retirees. If a retiree applied for benefits before 1997, the check arrives on the 3rd day of each month, with some exceptions.
For this reason, in order to receive the Social Security payment on the 10th day of May, it is mandatory to have applied for the benefit after 1997. But this is not the only condition for receiving the next payment.
Having a birthday between the 1st and the 10th
The second requirement is to have your birthday between the 1st and 10th of the month. This requirement is indispensable if we want to receive the benefit on this day. So along with the previous requirement we find that we must have applied for retirement after 1997 and be born between the 1st and 10th of the month.
If your birthday is not between these days there is nothing to worry about. The Social Security Administration will still send us a check, but it will send it on a different day.
Activate Direct Deposit
This last condition is not required to receive your next Social Security check. However, it is the best option to receive the money as soon as possible. With Direct Deposit as the collection method, any federal payment will arrive in your pocket automatically.
In the case of choosing the other collection method, i.e., bank deposit, the money will take longer to arrive. We will have to wait about 3 days before we can use the benefit money. For this reason, Direct Deposit is the best choice.
