Americans to receive a new $60 per month increase in Social Security benefits

Millions of U.S. citizens will receive a new Social Security payment, including inflation increase

If you were born these days you will get a new Social Security $4,555 check in October

For all United States disability retirees who began collecting Social Security before 1997, benefits arrived in the first week of June. However, the remaining beneficiaries, all retirees who retired after 1997, have not yet received their disability benefits. These retirees will receive their checks in the next few days.

Although, to tell the truth, not all retirees after that date will receive the next of the payments. Only a group of retirees will be able to enjoy their disability benefit soon. In this sense, beneficiaries who receive their check will be able to do so in just a few days. While this is true, it should also be remembered that in the month of June retirees collect their benefit later than ever before.

This is due to the fact that the month has started on a Thursday. When this situation occurs, the Social Security check for retirees after 1997 arrives later. The Social Security Administration always sends out Social Security benefit payments on the second, third and fourth Wednesday of the month. When the month starts on Thursday, the second Wednesday of the month is in the third week.

What are the requirements for collecting the next disability check?

As we have already discussed, the next disability check arrives on the next Wednesday of the month. This means that the payment will arrive on the 14th day of June to beneficiaries who have the benefit accepted and meet two requirements:

  • Have retirement after 1997.
  • The beneficiaries must have reached their birthday between the 1st and 10th of the month.

It is not obligatory to have a birthday within the month of June in order to receive the June disability benefit. This requirement is related only to the birthday and not to the month. Therefore, a retiree can be born in June and receive the benefit for July, August and all other months of the year.

When does Social Security send the rest of the benefits?

The truth is that if we do not meet the above requirements, the disability check will arrive a little later. And not only that, but in the month of June everything looks like it will be delayed a bit. This is due to what we have discussed above. So, the payment immediately following the June 14th check will be on June 21st.

After June 21st, the Social Security Administration will pay the next check on June 28th. This means that payments will not arrive until the third and fourth week of the month. So, as we have discussed, disability benefits are arriving later than ever to your beneficiaries this month.

In order to avoid further delays we should activate Direct Deposit. Thanks to this collection method, benefits arrive automatically to our bank account. Otherwise, we may have to wait 3 to 5 days, depending on whether there is a weekend in between or not.
