Most citizens of the United States already know that the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payment for the month of April 2025 was sent on the 1st of the month, as happens every month when the 1st falls on a weekday. This money has been a great relief to millions of beneficiaries in the United States, especially those with limited incomes or reduced resources, who depend on this monthly support to meet their most basic needs.
Unlike Social Security checks, which are distributed throughout the month according to different criteria, the SSI payment is delivered in advance, regardless of the beneficiary’s birthday. For this reason, many people already have this income in their account, but are still waiting for the deposit of their Social Security retirement, which can lead to doubts or confusion about the compatibility of the two programs.
It is important to clarify that SSI and Social Security are fully compatible. In fact, there are thousands of people who get both benefits every month. However, the payment schedule for each is different, and while the SSI has already been sent out, there is still a group of retirees waiting to receive their Social Security check. If you are one of them, pay attention to the requirements and key dates.
When does the April Social Security arrive?
The next Social Security payment will be made on Wednesday, April 23, 2025. This date corresponds to group 4 of beneficiaries, made up of people who:
- Began receiving their Social Security benefit after May 1997.
- Have a birthday between the 21st and 31st of any month.
If you are part of this group, your check is on its way and you should receive it on that date. This will be the last Social Security payment in April, so if you have not collected it yet and you meet these requirements, rest assured: your money will arrive shortly.
The other three groups of beneficiaries have already received their payments. Group 1, which includes those who have been receiving benefits since before May 1997, collected on April 3. Group 2, made up of those whose birthdays fall between the 1st and the 10th of the month, received their check on April 9. Finally, group 3, corresponding to those born between the 11th and the 20th, got their payment on April 16.
So, if you received your SSI payment on April 1st but are still waiting for your check from Social Security, check which group you belong to. It is possible that your deposit is scheduled for the 23rd. Being informed and knowing the details of the payment schedule is key to avoiding unnecessary worries and managing your finances with greater peace of mind.
