Social Security Supplemental Security Income payments are very important to thousands of families in the United States. Receiving one of these benefits means having a little extra financial freedom within the monthly budget. Thanks to the maximum $914 Supplemental Security Income payment, many families are able to pay their bills and expenses without much trouble.
In this regard, it is also good to remember that Supplemental Security Income is fully compatible with Social Security payments. Likewise, recipients of the disability benefit can also receive this payment every month. And all those groups who have SSI checks accepted could receive an extra check during the days of June.
While it is true that this check does not belong to the month of June and is therefore an extra payment, we find that it is actually an advance payment. That is, we will not have an extra payment that will cause us to have more Supplemental Security Income money in the total collection for the year than in previous years. Actually, through the COLA we will have more money than in previous years, but that is different.
Recipients who have a Supplemental Security Income payment will receive an extra check in June if they meet one more requirement. The requirement is related to the collection method chosen because the payment is actually an advance on the July SSI.
How do I receive the extra Supplemental Security Income in June 2023?
Each new month the Social Security Administration sends Supplemental Security Income recipients a payment up to a maximum of $914. Still, you have to keep a close eye on this because some states have been increasing SSI checks for a while.
As we said, the check arrives every month to the beneficiaries. The day of mailing is always the 1st of the month, but this can change if there are certain irregularities in the calendar. These irregularities have to do with the 1st of the month, which is the day of payment. When the 1st of the month is a weekend or holiday, the Supplemental Security Income payment is sent early.
This is the case in July. The 1st of July is a Saturday, so the Social Security Administration will send the payment on the immediately preceding business day. This causes the payment to be sent on June 30 itself.
With this in mind we already know that the July Supplemental Security Income payment could arrive in June. And to receive it immediately, we must have Direct Deposit. With this collection method, any Social Security check will appear immediately.
This is the only way we can get SSI to show up within a few days in June. If we don’t activate this collection method, the check will arrive in the next week, so it will already be July.
