In June Social Security checks will arrive later - CANVA

During the month of June, Social Security payments for some United States retirees arrive a little later. This is because post-1997 retirees always receive their benefits on the second, third and fourth Wednesdays of the month. And this month these days are later than usual. For these citizens with Social Security, it is common to receive a check in the second week.

But this is not the case in the month of June, since we will have to wait until the third week. If we add to that not activating the proper collection method, the delay can be even longer. And this can end up in a very unpleasant situation for some, as the money may not arrive until many days later.

In some cases, the money can take up to 5 days, since there is a weekend in between. So we’re talking about Social Security could be later than ever. But don’t worry, because you still have time to activate the fastest collection method of all and receive the money instantly. What collection method do you normally use?

What do I need to do to get my Social Security check as soon as possible?

In order to have this check as soon as the Social Security Administration sends it, we must activate Direct Deposit. Currently, retirement checks can come in two ways. Of these two routes, one is slower than the other. The first one is Direct Deposit, which is the fastest, without a doubt.

On the other hand, we have the classic transfer to our bank account. This method is also reliable, but it is much slower. With this method the payment can take up to 5 days if there is a weekend in between. For this reason, activating Direct Deposit is key if we do not want our check to be delayed any longer.

In addition to all this, this month activating Direct Deposit is more important than ever. In the case of not activating it we will not be able to get the money immediately. So activate it as soon as possible so we can cash the check the moment Social Security sends it.

Retirement payment schedule for June 2023

In total, the Social Security Administration sends out during the days of June 6 different checks. A retiree who has a benefit and Supplemental Security Income may receive 3 of these checks within the days of June. However, if you do not activate Direct Deposit it will be impossible to access these checks.

On the one hand, we have the Supplemental Security Income check, which arrives twice. For that reason in June we have 6 different checks from the Administration. The first of these checks is on the 1st of the month. The extra Supplemental Security Income check is on June 30th. By activating Direct Deposit we will have both payments in our pocket before the end of the month.

On the other hand, there are the Social Security retirement checks. Retirees with a pre-1997 benefit collect their check on the 2nd of the month. This payment has already been sent, so if you have not received it, you should claim it from the Administration.

Finally, post-1997 retirees will get their check on the last day of the month. This check will arrive on three different days. The first of these checks will be on June 14th and will be for those who have a birthday between the 1st and 10th of the month. The second of these three payments will be on June 21st and will arrive for beneficiaries born between the 11th and 20th of the month. Finally, June 28th is for payments to beneficiaries with birthdays between the 21st and 31st of the month.
