One of the best things about Social Security retirement payments throughout the United States is its organization. Through this organization, it is very easy to know the schedule of payments. This makes it possible for retirees to know well in advance on what day they will receive their Social Security check each month.
Thanks to this, organization in household finances is much easier. What’s more, some retirees collect only their Social Security payment as a source of income, which makes this check even more important. Although this practice is not at all advisable, some citizens have no other option available to them.
Therefore, knowing the schedule of Social Security payments becomes a must in many cases. In order to know on which day we will receive the next payment from the Administration, we only need to know some personal data. Knowing these personal data we will be able to determine if the next check is for us or we will have to wait a little longer to receive the money.
What are the conditions for receiving the next Social Security payment?
The next Social Security payment has two basic requirements. If we want to receive it, we will have to meet the following two requirements:
- Having the retirement benefit since after 1997. Retirees prior to this year always receive their benefit at the beginning of the month. As we are currently at the end of the month, the payment cannot be for this group.
- Birthdays between the 21st and 31st of the month. This is the last group of retirees to receive Social Security. In addition to this group there are two others who received their payments last Wednesday.
So if you meet these two requirements you will be able to enjoy this benefit without any problems. The collection day will be the 28th, which does not mean that we will automatically receive the money.
If we want to have the money in our pocket on the 28th of June we must activate Direct Deposit. If we do not activate this collection method, it may take up to 3 days for the money to appear in our pocket.
Upcoming SSA payments in June
In addition to this June 28th payment the Social Security Administration will send out a separate check. This other check is the Supplemental Security Income for the month of July. The payment is advanced to the last business day of June, i.e., the 30th.
This irregularity is due to the fact that the 1st of the month, which is the assigned day for this type of payment, is a weekend. For that reason the check is brought forward and so the beneficiaries of this benefit can have their payment on time.
Therefore, this allows many United States citizens to have up to 3 different Social Security checks in a month. One is the retirement payment and the other two would be Supplemental Security Income checks.
