Throughout the United States, Supplemental Security Income recipients of any type can activate an option to receive Supplemental Security Income earlier. This can mean that in many months we have the opportunity to receive up to two payments of Supplemental Security Income. The truth is that it can be a great advantage when it comes to having a good economic organization at home.
If we know well in advance the schedule of payments and activate the appropriate collection method, everything will be easier. It may be tempting not to take all this into account and do nothing more about it, but in the long run it is a mistake not to do so. If we do not activate this collection method we will not have the option of receiving our checks on time.
In this regard, it is important to note that it is not mandatory to receive Supplemental Security Income checks through this method. But it is advisable for all the reasons we have mentioned above. In the end, the decision is completely personal, but it is a great advantage over the other payment method. The moment we activate this method of cashing Social Security checks, our money will arrive before the rest of the beneficiaries.
The best way to collect Supplemental Security Income
Regardless of the type of benefit you are collecting, activating Direct Deposit is essential. This is the best method because of the speed at which we can get the money. We don’t have to wait a minute to have the money available in our bank account. So there is no disadvantage compared to Direct Deposit, quite the opposite.
And we’re not just talking about Supplemental Security Income. Any other Social Security check will arrive this way if we activate Direct Deposit. In addition, we will also receive new checks immediately if we activate this option. All checks related to federal organizations can arrive much sooner under this method.
For example, if we have to receive the Tax Refund from the IRS, thanks to Direct Deposit we will get it faster. There is no doubt that this is the most suitable method to get the money faster and without waiting.
What other Social Security checks will arrive before the end of May?
The Social Security Administration has already sent three different checks to your beneficiaries in May. The first of these checks is for Supplemental Security Income and was mailed on the 1st of the month. On the other hand, pre-1997 retirees received their benefits on the 3rd of May.
After this payment, only post-1997 retirees can receive the following checks. The 10th of May was the payment for post-1997 beneficiaries born between the 1st and 10th of the month. There are still two checks to be mailed:
- May 17th. Post-1997 retirees with birthdays between the 11th and 20th of the month.
- May 24th. Beneficiaries with birthdays between the 21st and 31st of the month. It is also mandatory to have applied for Social Security after 1997.
Once the Administration sends the May 24th payment, we will have to wait until June 1st to receive a new check. This time it will be the Supplemental Security Income payment and it will be sent to all the beneficiaries who have this financial help accepted.
