Getting a new United States Social Security check each month is only possible for those who already have an accepted benefit. However, retirees who have an accepted benefit do not always receive a check on the same day. It is important to remember this to avoid financial problems at home.
By keeping track at all times of the day we collect our monthly Social Security payment any organization is much simpler. So if you know if you will have access to the next of the payments you will just have to wait a little bit to receive it. However, if you don’t, you won’t have to wait too long. Every week the Administration sends out a new check and receiving it depends on certain conditions.
If you do not meet the requirements for cashing the Social Security check in the next payment, you will certainly receive the payment in one of the following weeks. By meeting the mandatory requirements and having an accepted retirement benefit, regardless of age, you can safely have your monthly check in your pocket.
Who gets the next Social Security payment?
Retirees age 67 can say that they will soon receive a Social Security benefit. However, not all citizens of that age can have the next of the checks. To get it, two main requirements must be met.
- Retirement after 1997. If your benefit is prior to this date, the payment day will be a totally different day. Otherwise, you will be able to cash the next check.
- You were born between the 1st and 10th of the month. This is the only group that can collect the next Social Security payment. Without meeting this condition and the previous one, you will not be able to receive next week’s check.
In this sense, not only 67 year old retirees receive this benefit. Any retiree of any age and condition will get next day’s payment as long as they meet these two unique requirements.
My benefit is prior to 1997, when will I receive the check?
There are two main categories of retirees in the United States. The first of these categories is pre-1997 retirees. All beneficiaries who meet this condition fall into this category, regardless of their birthday.
These retirees have their payment day always on the 3rd of each month. This may have a small exception, but the usual rule is that. When the 3rd day of each month is a holiday or weekend, the payment is made on the immediately preceding business day.
If you have not already received your benefit today and your retirement is prior to 1997 you must claim payment. This is because the Social Security Administration sent checks to this group on May 3. Go to a local office to see if there is a problem with your benefit.
