Retirement checks are a very important element in the United States economy. While it is not at all advisable to have only the Social Security payment as the only source of monthly income, some citizens have no other options. For this very reason, it is extremely important to know on what day we will cash our retirement check.
Each new month means a new Social Security check. This makes it easier for us to organize our household finances from month to month. Also, each new Social Security retirement check is the same as the last, except at the beginning of the year. The amount of the check never changes, so we must have our organization based on the money we know we will receive.
Next week will be the last of the August retirement payments. This means that if we do not receive the money in the next few days we should have received it by now. In order to confirm that the Social Security Administration should have sent our pensioner our pension we must check the payment days and requirements.
WHO WILL NOT RECEIVE THE LAST RETIREMENT PAYMENT FOR AUGUST?
Within the groups that the Social Security Administration makes for sending retirement payments there are a total of 4 different groups. Each of these groups has several different requirements. Retirees who have birthdays between the 1st and 20th of the month will not be eligible to receive the next of the payments.
Likewise, any beneficiary with a pre-1997 retirement benefit will also not be able to cash the new check. It is important to keep this in mind in order to know whether or not we will receive the payment.
In conclusion, the requirements to be able to collect the new Social Security payment are:
- Have the retirement after 1997.
- You must have your birthday between the 21st and 31st of any month.
Only in this case we will be able to receive the payment on August 23rd. This day will be the last day in which the Administration will send payments for the whole month. So if you have not already received your payment, it is advisable to do one of the following actions:
- Contact the bank so that you can inquire about our check.
- Go to a local Social Security office to ask if there is a problem with our benefit.
Still, there are other things to keep in mind. If we want to avoid delays in retirement payments, we not only have to consider the method of collection. It is also important to keep our personal information up to date both at the bank and through My Social Security Account. Any personal changes should be reported immediately.
Failure to report a move, divorce or any other change in our personal information can lead to delays. So update your information if you do not want to have problems with retirement payments.
