There are many advantages to collecting a Social Security benefit in the United States. Two of the main advantages is that we can know the payment schedule and the amount we will receive each month. Thanks to this, the organization of everything related to the economy of each household is easier.
And is that the calendar of Social Security payments lets us know in advance the day in which we can get their checks. And next April 24th we will have access to the last of this month’s retirement checks so that we can enjoy it as long as we meet certain requirements.
Who can get the new Social Security check?
As we have already mentioned, the payment of the last of the Social Security checks for April will be on the 24th. In order to get a check on this day, two requirements must be met. If we do not meet them, we will not be able to get the payment, but we will get the money on a different day. Therefore, we must check these requirements carefully.
There are two requirements to get the April 24th retirement payment. On the one hand, it is mandatory to have a birthday between the 21st and 31st of the month. On the other hand, you must have a Social Security benefit accepted as of May 1997. Any check accepted in a month after that date falls into this group.
There is no other extra requirement, so the type of retirement is not important in order to get this payment. What is true is that if we do not activate Direct Deposit as a collection method, the money will not appear immediately in the checking account, but we will have to wait a few days until it is available.
Upcoming Social Security payments in 2024
After the April 24th retirement check payment, the Social Security Administration will send other payments in May. The April 24th payment is the last payment of the month, so we will have to wait until we get another new check.
The 1st of May will be this month’s Supplemental Security Income payment. Also, on May 3rd, 8th, 15th and 22nd we will have access to retirement payments for all types of beneficiaries. The exact day will depend on both the year of retirement and the United States citizen’s birthday.
In addition, on the 31st of May we will have an extra check from Supplemental Security Income. The reason there is an extra Social Security payment this month is because June 1st is a weekend, which means that the payment arrives early to beneficiaries.
