One of the most anticipated new features of WhatsApp is now available. It is about the reactions in the messages of the instant messaging platform, an option that many people were waiting for, especially after Marc Zuckerberg himself announced it. The founder of Meta explained through his Facebook profile the implementation of reactions in WhatsApp along with emoticons.

This feature was already available on both Instagram and Facebook, so WhatsApp was the only one that still did not have this option. But from today we can already use them, what’s more, you may have been able to see a new icon that you have not dared to use.

So, from now on, users of the instant messaging application will be able to react to messages, photos and even videos, both in private conversations and in group chats.

Six types of new reactions in WhatsApp messages

In total there are six emoticons that have been used to create these new WhatsApp reactions. A thumbs up, a heart, two high-fiving hands, a laughing, surprised or crying face.

In order to use these emoticons, the user will have to press on the message and choose the icon that best suits the message, whether it is a message of love, surprise or congratulations.

Of course, although the reactions are already available, not all mobile devices will be able to enjoy them at this time. For the moment, they can only be used in the beta version of the application and WhatsApp Web. Mobile devices will have to wait a bit to be able to make use of this new feature.

Other interesting new features of WhatsApp

But this is not the only new feature introduced by WhatsApp. From now on we will also be able to send files up to 2GB, far exceeding the previous limit of 100MB.

There is also the possibility of creating group chats of up to 512 people, something that many users are asking for since the limit is much lower. However, this possibility is not yet confirmed.

Last week, WhatsApp incorporated up to 107 different emojis, taking into account the variation of color or sex, so in total there have been 37 new additions.

In the new pack of emojis we find a mouth biting the lips, an X-ray, an identity card, a life float or a melting face, among others.
