Nowadays it is very common to know for United States citizens that Medicare has up to 4 different parts. Within these 4 different parts we find payment elements and elements that are included in the basic coverage. Knowing what really belongs to us is very easy, as we can look up the coverages that apply to us.
However, sometimes it can be a little confusing to know how much I have to pay for Medicare Part C or for the premium part of Part B. For that reason, the Medicare Administration itself has made available to everyone an outline of the payments we make when contracting this medical help service.
It should also not be forgotten that although Medicare has a premium part of payment, there is a possibility that we do not pay it. It all depends on our personal situation and whether we can apply for it free of charge. If we meet the conditions we do not have to pay for the premium part of the Medicare Part B.
How much does Medicare cost?
Each party has its own prices. In most situations, payment will depend on a citizen’s own income. Surprisingly to many, even Part A is priced for certain Americans.

- In the case of Medicare Part A, the general price is $0. But watch out, as there are many citizens who may be required to pay as much as $506 for this Part.
- In Part B, the general price is $164.90 per month. This could be higher depending on the citizen’s income. This amount could change every year, so we should check if it has increased before making our annual budget.
- Part C (or Medicare Advantage). The price of this part varies according to the services contracted. As there are many different services, it is impossible to give a standard price.
- Part D (Drug Coverage). As with Part C, the price of Part D varies greatly. So pay attention at the time of contracting it to know the final price according to your preferences.
Remember that both Medicare Part C and Part D are fully optional and premium. Apart from this, within Part B itself there is a premium part that can cost a little extra money.
