One of the biggest advantages of starting to collect a Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) check in the United States is being able to know the exact day we will get each check. The payment schedule is so clear that even before the month begins, we can know exactly when we will receive the next payment.
In this sense, in the month of December we will also have an extra check that beneficiaries will be able to get if they meet the requirements. Although not all Americans will enjoy this benefit, most Social Security Disability beneficiaries will be able to get it.
Thus, in the case of receiving this extra benefit, also called Supplemental Security Income, in this same week those beneficiaries will receive up to $2,763, a rather high amount that can provide those beneficiaries with money for all their expenses during the month.
However, several requirements must be met in order to reach this amount. Still, this is very good news for all those Americans who are waiting to receive their disability benefit, as one group can get up to two Social Security checks on the same day.
HOW TO GET $2,763 IN SOCIAL SECURITY DISABILITY BENEFITS THIS WEEK?
In order to get this double check with such an amount we need to meet several requirements. The good news is that if we already meet the requirements we will have no problem collecting the payments and will not have to do anything. The bad news is that if we do not meet the requirements it is too late to meet them, so we will have to make do with the situation we are in.
These are the requirements we must meet, so take a good look at them to determine if you will get the double check:
- Have a disability benefit since before 1997. This will cause Social Security to send our check on the 1st of December.
- Have accepted Supplemental Security Income. This check is extra income and will also be sent on the 1st of December.
- Activate Direct Deposit. By activating this collection method our benefit will arrive on the same day it is sent, so we won’t have to wait a single minute to have the money available.
If we have an average Social Security disability benefit we will find ourselves with a check that is around $1,849. Likewise, the maximum Supplemental Security Income payment is $914. Both payments together amount to $2,763.
This does not mean that everyone will get such a large amount. Some will get more money in total and some will get less. What we do need to do is meet the requirements to have the money available.
WHEN WILL MY SOCIAL SECURITY BENEFIT ARRIVE IF I DO NOT ACTIVATE DIRECT DEPOSIT?
The Direct Deposit collection method is extremely fast and effective. So much so that we will not have to wait even one day to have the money available for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) or any other SSA check.
In the case of not activating this collection method, the money will arrive within three days. The biggest problem with this is when there is a weekend right after the day the money is sent. In that case the Social Security money may take much longer to appear in the bank current account.
Regardless of the collection method we have activated, the money will arrive to our current account with the only difference of having it sooner or later, so we can be calm about it.
