In the next few days the first of the October retirement payments for post-1997 United States beneficiaries will arrive. So if your Social Security check application is after this year the payment could arrive very soon.
Still, another requirement needs to be met if we want to get this payment. The Social Security retirement payment setup depends on two main factors. On the one hand, we have the year of retirement factor. On the other, the birthday.
Still, it is true that taking this into account we can see that there are two main groups. The first group is that of pre-1997 retirees. The second group is that of beneficiaries after this date.
We say that there are two large groups because the group of beneficiaries with a retirement prior to 1997 all collect on the same day. However, the Social Security Administration sends checks to post-1997 retirees on up to three different days of the month.
For the next retirement payments, it is necessary to belong to the second of these large groups. But you also need to be part of a specific group within these three groups. Do you already know on which day in October you will get your Social Security payment?
WHO GETS THE NEXT RETIREMENT PAYMENT IN OCTOBER?
In order to determine who gets the next October Social Security payment we must take into account that the first of the large groups has already gotten their money. At least the Administration has already sent out the check.
In this sense, if your benefit is prior to 1997 the retirement payment should be on its way or in your bank account, if you have activated Direct Deposit. On another note, we should keep in mind that the next of the payments will be on October 11th.
On this day, retirees with their post-1997 check who have a birthday between the 1st and 10th of the month will get their benefit. There is no extra requirement to collect this pension check.
Having the post-1997 benefit and the birthday between the 1st and 10th is enough for the Social Security Administration to send us the check. Even so, remember that this is the day the Administration will send the check, but whether or not you get it immediately depends on whether or not you have activated Direct Deposit.
The rest of the retirees will cash their checks on October 18th and October 25th. On the first of these days, post-1997 retirees with birthdays between the 11th and 20th of the month will receive their retirement checks. Finally, October 25th is for beneficiaries born between the 21st and 31st of the month with a payment after 1997.
