Luckily for Full Retirement Age retirees in the United States, Social Security payments will be arriving very soon. Only a group of these retirees will be able to receive the check in this first payment of the year 2023. To check if we are on the list of the next ones to receive the Social Security check we only need to look at our date of birth.

In this way, Social Security divides retirees into three different groups. On the one hand, there are retirees born between the 1st and 10th of a month. On the other hand, there are retirees born between the 11th and 20th of any month. Finally, the third group of retirees are those born between the 21st and 31st of any month of the year. It is important to remember that it does not matter what month of the year you were born.

You do not have to be born in January to be eligible for January benefits. The Social Security Administration considers only the day of birth. Therefore, it does not matter what month of the year you were born. Retirees should only look at the calendar based on the day of birth. So the payment days are the second, third and fourth Wednesday of the month. This is great news in order to be able to organize the family economy in the best possible way.

When do Full Retirement Age seniors receive the benefit from Social Security?

In order to receive the benefit on the exact day that Social Security sends the check, retirees must have Direct Deposit active. This method of payment is very effective and fast. Seniors can also receive their benefits by deposit to a bank account. The method of payment is completely personal and each pensioner chooses the one he/she likes best.

The only disadvantage of collecting Social Security through the bank account is the time. It usually takes up to 3 days for the money to reach the pensioner’s pocket. That is why it is much better to use Direct Deposit, as it is immediate, fast and very efficient.
