The last month of 2022 is about to end for everyone in the United States. This means that a new Social Security calendar begins, as each month has its different payment dates. The Social Security Administration has already announced the new payments for 2023. And January is the first month with these payments. If you want to know the day on which seniors will receive their benefits, you only have to pay attention to the days on which the SSA will pay the pensions.

A new year means new projects, illusions and plans. And having a clear idea of the day on which we will receive our Social Security check makes it easier for us to enjoy all of that. That’s why the SSA announces well in advance the day it will send checks of up to $4,194 to retirees. Knowing the exact day a senior collects his or her check is very easy, as the Social Security Administration divides retirees into just three different groups.

Each of these groups is paid on the second, third or fourth Wednesday of the month. This is repeated every month, although the day is always different, since each month begins on a different day of the week. Thus, by knowing which group a pensioner belongs to, he will be able to know the Wednesday of the month on which Social Security will send him his pension.

This is always the case, since Social Security payments are always sent on time. It is not common to see the Administration send checks late, although anything is possible in this regard.

Social Security payment schedule for January 2023

The January 2023 Social Security payment days for January 2023 correspond to the second, third and fourth Wednesdays, as usual in these calendars. To be exact, let’s take a look at the payment days and the groups to which they belong.

January SSA calendar is already available

  • January 11th. Second Wednesday of the month. This payment belongs to retirees born between the 1st and 10th of the month.
  • January 18th. Third Wednesday of the month. The Social Security retirement benefit goes to pensioners born between the 11th and 20th of the month.
  • January 25th. Fourth Wednesday of the month. Pensioners born between the 21st and 31st of the month receive Social Security on this day.

These are all payments that will be sent by the Social Security Administration in January. As you can see, the SSA will not send out a Supplemental Security Income check in January 2023. However, this does not mean that this benefit does not exist in this month, as it is sent in advance on the 30th day of December 2022.
