Find out the irregularities in SSI payments in February and March 2025

The Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payment has a great effect on households in the United States because it provides extra income for Social Security beneficiaries with a check that is too small. In addition, other Americans can apply for this benefit without having to be retired.

But the important thing about the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) check is that it goes into the beneficiaries’ pockets every month. Even so, it is true that sometimes we encounter irregularities that force us to receive the payment on a different day than the one we get it, so we have to pay attention to the calendar.

SSI Dates for February and March 2025

The payment of this benefit always arrives on the 1st of each month, with some exceptions. And the truth is that both months, February and March 2025, have these exceptions. As the 1st of each of these two months is a weekend, the payment is sent earlier.

Therefore, we find that the SSI payment was not sent on the 1st of the month, but on the last working day of January 2025. This means that the payment arrived earlier to American households that have Direct Deposit activated.

On the other hand, in the month of March we find the same situation. If we take into account that March 1st is a weekend, the payment will be sent on the last working day of February. And with Direct Deposit the check will arrive immediately on the same day of the month.

SSI amounts for February and March 2025

The maximum check for this benefit in 2025 is $967 per month. There are no checks higher than this unless the SSI application is made as a couple. But in these cases, the payment usually does not exceed this amount. Remember that each Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payment is individual in the sense that each case is studied in a completely unique way.

If we apply for the payment we must remember that there are two fundamental requirements: to be 65 years of age or older or to have a disability and to have limited resources. This second requirement is what determines the final amount of our check: the lower our monthly income, the higher the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payment we will get each month.
