Disability checks for certain groups of beneficiaries will be arriving soon in September to households across the United States. The Social Security Administration will send this check with the 2024 COLA included, which makes this September 2024 payment larger than in September of the previous year 2023.

Upcoming Social Security Disability Payments

In this regard, retirees will collect their September Social Security payment on one of these days:
- September 3rd. Social Security payment for pre-May 1997 retirees.
- September 11th. Social Security payment for retirees after May 1997. It is also necessary to have a birthday between the 1st and 10th of the month.
- September 18th. Social Security payment for retirees after May 1997. Birthdays between the 11th and 20th of the month are also required.
- September 25th. Social Security payment for retirees after May 1997. It is also necessary to have a birthday between the 21st and 31st of the month.
The September 3rd payment is the first of all payments and is only for pre-1997 retirees. The rest of the beneficiaries, those who have applied for the check after May 1997, can enjoy their benefits on the 11th, 18th or 25th of the month. Everything will depend directly on the day of the birthday.
Also, the collection method chosen is important. If we choose Direct Deposit, the payment arrives on the same day of shipment. If we do not choose this collection method, the Disability payment will arrive in the days following the shipment.
Disability check increase in September 2024
The September 2024 payment for Disability retirees is 3.2% higher than the previous year. Therefore, the check increases $3.2 out of every $100 we had in 2023. This implies that all beneficiaries get a higher benefit in this case.
And best of all, you don’t have to do anything to get this increase. Every year, the United States Government and the Social Security Administration announce the check increase through the COLA and in this current year the increase, which started at the beginning of the year, was 3.2% for all classes of beneficiaries.
