Benefit collection days are always days when United States citizens have something to celebrate. The Social Security Administration has a very clear calendar for this, so it’s easy to know the day we’ll be cashing our next check.
Regardless of the reason for retirement, Social Security divides retirees into three different groups. Each of these groups receives their benefit on a Wednesday of the month. Therefore, the payment days are always the second, third and fourth Wednesday of each month. Depending on your date of birth, you will receive your benefit on one day or another.
Therefore, regardless of whether your benefit is disability or age retirement, you could collect your cheque on the next Wednesday of the month. The only requirement is that you must be born between the 21st and 31st of any month. That alone will entitle you to receive the money in just a few days.
On what day do retirees born 21-31 receive Social Security?
The exact day in the month of February for retirees born between the 21st and 31st of the month will be the 25th of February. This is the fourth and last Wednesday of the month. To receive a check with the Social Security money on this day, all you have to do is have a birthday between the days mentioned above.
And it is not necessary to be born in February to receive the February benefit. All retirees are paid every month regardless of their birthday. Social Security only checks the day of the month to make the groups, regardless of the specific month.
Next Disability Retirement Check Payment
In addition to this next payment on February 25, Social Security will send out more checks in March and later in the year. The next disability retirement check could be on March 1, as that is when the Administration sends out the Supplemental Security Income. This check is for a small group of retirees, but if we have payment accepted we will receive it on this day.
After that, Social Security will send checks on the 8th, 15th and 22nd of March. So, we will have to wait a little longer if we want to receive another retirement check. While this is not a long time, we must also take into account our day of birth in order to determine whether it will be on the second, third or fourth Wednesday of March.
