In the coming weeks, the United States Social Security Administration will be sending a new check to disability retirees who have a disability benefit previously accepted. However, as of today, the Administration has already sent out a few checks. The check it has sent is only for beneficiaries in the pre-1997 retiree group.
For that reason, if your benefit is post-1997 it is possible that your check will arrive later than usual. This is due to a slight irregularity in the schedule. Because of this irregularity, disability and other benefits will arrive a little later. While it is true that the schedule remains the same, for all practical purposes the money arrives later.
This is simply because September starts on a Friday. When Friday is the first day of the month, the payment for the second group of retirees always happens to arrive much later. The same goes for the payment for the third and fourth groups. These disability beneficiaries will also receive their benefits a little later than usual.
WHEN DOES THE NEXT DISABILITY BENEFIT ARRIVE?
The next Disability benefit payment will be made on September 13th. This means that until that day, no other retirees will be able to take advantage of the new benefit. However, there is nothing to worry about. Any beneficiary whose benefit has been accepted will still receive it. The important thing in these cases is to keep a close eye on the calendar.
Likewise, remember that this is the day on which the Administration sends the money. It does not mean that we will get the money immediately. To achieve this it is necessary to activate Direct Deposit as a payment method. If we do not activate it, the money will take even longer, as it could arrive up to 3 days later.
WHO WILL RECEIVE THE NEW SOCIAL SECURITY CHECK?
The payment on the upcoming September 13th is not for all Social Security beneficiaries. If you want to receive this benefit, it does not matter if you have a disability pensioner or otherwise. The most important thing to be able to receive the payment is to meet two requirements. These are the conditions:
- Have the benefit since after 1997.
- You must have your birthday between the 1st and 10th of the month.
And there is no other requirement for the Administration to send us this check. What we must keep in mind is that without Direct Deposit the payment will take a few days to arrive. So we will not get the payment on September 13th, but a little later. Also, it is not mandatory to have a disability pensioner; any other pensioner’s pension is valid.
