Disability retirees who receive their Social Security benefit check may be late in receiving their payment this month. This depends on the collection method each United States resident chooses. And that is, if we choose the wrong collection method we may not receive any of our disability benefits on time.
Therefore, we can say that only one group of retirees will not receive their benefits on time on the next day. That group of retirees is the one that does not have the fastest and most efficient collection method activated. Otherwise, there is nothing to worry about. Even so, it is always better to have all the information available in order to choose the most convenient option.
In addition to this, it is also important to keep in mind that the next check is not only for retirees who have a disability. Contrary to what many citizens think, receiving a disability or age retirement check does not matter in determining the day. To find out if we are in the group that will collect the next check we only need to consider both the year of retirement and the day of birth.
Who does not receive the next disability check?
Retirees who do not have Direct Deposit activated will not be able to receive the next check on time. While it is true that sometimes the bank may have the money available on the day of payment, this is not always the case.
The only way to receive payment every month without delay is to activate Direct Deposit. There is no faster way to receive the money, so activate this method as soon as possible if you don’t want delays in receiving your payment.
Social Security payment schedule for July 2023
To this we have to add that not all retirees will collect their Social Security benefit in the upcoming July 2023 mailing. If you want to know on what day the Administration will send your check, pay attention to this schedule of disability and retirement payments by age.
- July 3rd. Social Security payment for pre-1997 retirees.
- July 12th. Any citizen with a birthday between the 1st and 10th of the month will receive a check on this day. It is also necessary to have the benefit since after 1997.
- July 19th. Post-1997 retirees with birthdays between the 11th and 20th receive their payment on this day.
- July 26th. Disabled citizens with birthdays between the 21st and 31st of the month receive payment. In addition, it is mandatory to have the benefit since after 1997.
Remember that the Social Security Administration sends out checks on these days. This means that the disability benefit does not have to appear on the exact same day in our bank. The only way to get this is through activating Direct Deposit as a collection method.
