So, the January 8th Social Security disability payments are for retirees who:
- Have a birthday between the 1st and 10th of any month.
- Have applied for retirement benefits after May 1997.

How do I apply for a COLA 2025 Disability payment?
The 2025 Disability payments will come with the added COLA without having to apply. This increase in benefits is an automatic process, so there is no need to apply to the Social Security Administration for the increase at any time.
The amount we receive in 2025 will depend directly on the amount we received in 2024. In total, we will get 2.5% more of our Disability benefit in 2025, although we will not know the exact amount until we receive the first payment of the year.
