At the beginning of each year, the United States Social Security Administration increases disability benefits. Similarly, it also increases all checks related to pensions. So we can say that in every year Social Security checks increase a little bit. And this increase is reflected in all checks every month. And it also doesn’t matter the type of benefit in order to see the increase in payment.
Likewise, disability benefits have reached a record high due to the 2023 increase. The COLA increase has pushed all benefits up 8.7% this year. This increase is undoubtedly good news for all citizens who enjoy a monthly benefit. Likewise, the benefit does not have to be a disability benefit to get the increase.
During September paydays, the COLA increase will also apply. This means that this month’s maximum check will also be $3,627 for disability benefits. If we look at the maximum checks for age retirement the figure reaches $4,555 per month. So, without a doubt, we are looking at the largest increase in recent years.
WHO WILL RECEIVE THE NEXT SOCIAL SECURITY DISABILITY CHECK IN SEPTEMBER?
In order to receive the next of the September payments, only one requirement must be met. And this requirement has nothing to do with the type of benefit. Therefore, just like disability beneficiaries, all other retirees will receive their check just the same.

Also note that the increase in these payments is for all Social Security beneficiaries. So the 8.7% COLA applies as of January 2023 to all citizens.
In short, the only requirement that retirees must meet is to have had the benefit since before 1997. It is the only one and it is mandatory. Retirees who do not meet this requirement will receive their benefit at another time.
So if you want to receive your disability benefit, this requirement is the only one. So soon you will be able to enjoy, whether you have had Social Security since before 1997 or not, the new benefit.
The check will arrive on September 1st, but the rest of the retirees will receive their benefits on other days. The other payment days will be September 13th, 20th and 27th. On these days, the beneficiaries with a post-1997 check will receive their benefits.
The exact collection day for that group will depend on the date of birth. In this regard, there are three different groups. The first group is for retirees born between the 1st and 10th of the month. The second group is for beneficiaries with birthdays between the 11th and 20th of the month. Finally, the group of retirees with birthdays between the 21st and 31st of the month will receive their benefit on the last day of the payment calendar.
