One of the great advantages of collecting a Social Security disability benefit is that we can know the exact day of collection. This allows those United States citizens with a Social Security retirement benefit to plan very effectively for their finances.
However, the Social Security Disability payment schedule is not the same for all beneficiaries. Each American with this type of benefit belongs to a different group. And to be part of one group or another, we must meet certain requirements.
How to get the disability payment with the extra 24 hours?
As a matter of fact, the Social Security Administration will be sending out Disability checks throughout the entire month of April. However, it will be sending out the first of these checks this week.
And it is possible to get this benefit on April 3rd if we know how to do it. The first thing we must take into account is whether we belong to the group of retirees of this day. The second thing is the collection method.
For that reason, to get the check with the extra money of the COLA 2024 included we must have the benefit since before May 1997. As a second requirement, the Disability retiree must have Direct Deposit activated. This is the only way to get the payment within 24 hours from today.
What is the maximum Disability check in April 2024?
Through COLA, the Social Security Administration increases the Disability checks each new year. And this April 2024 we will have 3.2% more in retirement payments than in April 2023. For this reason, the maximum check is also different.
In this full year 2023, the maximum Social Security Disability payment is $3,822. This payment, barring a surprise from the United States Government, will not increase for the remainder of this current year.
But you don’t have to have the maximum check to be able to collect a larger check than last year. The COLA takes effect on each and every disability check that the Social Security Administration sends out. Every single check this year is 3.2% higher than last year.
To find out what our benefit is in 2024 we only have to add 3.2% to the Disability check we were collecting in 2023. This means that we will have $32 more for every $1,000 of benefit.
