The IRS Tax Season is about to end. This means that the Department of the Treasury of the United States federal government will not receive any more money from the IRS for some time. For taxpayers this also means something, and that is that after the last day of Tax Season you will not have to worry about taxes until next year.

In case you have already sent your tax return to the IRS, these tips may also be useful. Although it is true that the recommendations we are going to see are for taxpayers who have not yet paid their taxes, they could also be useful for the rest of the citizens. Whether you have sent your tax return or not, you should check this information because it may be useful to you.

Overall, the Department of the Treasury will receive millions of dollars through IRS Tax Returns. This will make life easier for all citizens, since the taxpayers’ taxes will pay for Social Security benefits, either disability or age, schools or hospitals, among many other things.

However, we have to keep in mind that there are many things that could change our income tax return a lot. Especially if the IRS has to give us money back through a Tax Refund check. For that reason, let’s check all the information before we finish with the Tax Return.

Recommendations for sending the Tax Return to the IRS

Within these recommendations we find many that have to do directly with the IRS. This is because the IRS is in charge of receiving the tax money. This information is known by all the citizens of the United States today, since this department of the United States federal government works at a national level.

When sending our Tax Return we must take into account the following recommendations:

  • Send all documents on time. We must send the IRS our Tax Return on time. Otherwise, we will receive a penalty that can be quite large. In general, these penalties are around 5% per month late. If you do not want to pay more than necessary, send your Tax Return on time.
  • Check that all taxes are correct. Every Taxpayer has to make sure that his or her tax return has no errors. An error within the return could result in the IRS not paying the Tax Refund or penalizing the citizen.
  • Activate Direct Deposit as a collection method. If we are going to receive a Tax Refund from the IRS, activating Direct Deposit is the best option. If we add to that the fact that we send all the documents electronically, we will have our money much faster.

Don’t forget that the Tax Season will end next April 19th, so you still have time to send the documents to the IRS. After that date, we will have to pay a penalty to the United States federal government for each month late.
