Do you have a United States Social Security benefit and don’t know when you will get it? The truth is that the Social Security Administration’s payment schedule is very easy to follow and we can know well in advance on what day we will receive a payment.
All we have to do is meet the requirements. There are two requirements and both are directly related to the beneficiary’s personal information. On the one hand, it is essential to check the year of retirement. On the other hand, it is also important to know the birthday.
In total, the Administration sends the checks on four different days. This means that in the end there are four different groups of retirees. Whether we are in one or the other will depend on the data we have mentioned above.
With this list of specific requirements that we are going to see you will be able to determine if the next Social Security payment will reach your bank account or not. If not, there is nothing to worry about, since that means you will get your check on a different day.
WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS TO GET THE NEW SOCIAL SECURITY PAYMENT?
As we have already mentioned before, there are two main requirements in total that make us get the Social Security on one day or another. Regarding the first of the requirements, the date of retirement, this causes retirees to be divided into two large groups. And if the retirement is by age or disability does not matter.
On the one hand, retirees with benefits prior to 1997. On the other hand, beneficiaries with a benefit after 1997. The first of these groups has no extra requirement and all those who belong to it are paid on the 3rd day of each month. When exceptions occur, as is the case in September, the payment arrives on the immediately preceding working day.
On the other hand, there is the group of post-1997 retirees. This group of retirees is, in turn, divided into three distinct groups. Social Security sends check to these retirees on different days of the month depending on the birthday. These are the three groups:
- Retirees born between the 1st and 10th of the month. 2nd Wednesday of the month.
- Beneficiaries with birthdays between the 11th and 20th . 3rd Wednesday of the month.
- Retirees with birthdays between the 21st and 31st. 4th Wednesday of the month.
The next Social Security payment will be made on September 20th. This day is the third Wednesday of the month. This means that in order to collect this check we must have the benefit since after 1997 and have a birthday between the 11th and 20th. The month of birth is not important, only the exact day.
