In any of the United States, the announcement of a new Social Security payment is good news for American retirees. Thanks to these checks, most are able to pay their bills, as well as make their regular purchases.
Although it is not advisable to receive the Social Security benefit as the only monthly income, most retirees have no other choice. Therefore, the Social Security check becomes the mainstay of their finances. So keeping track of the day the Administration sends out the check becomes a priority for pensioners.
The next mailing of the check is the last one for retired pensioners, regardless of the reason for retirement. Thus, disability or age pensioners will be able to receive a new cheque in just a few days. In addition, they will be able to collect the money automatically if they meet a requirement. Will you receive the next Social Security check?
Next mailing of Social Security benefits
In the month of February, the Administration has already sent out as many as 3 different checks. The first one is for Supplemental Security Income. The other two payments are retirement benefit checks. The days of these payments were as follows:
- February 1st. Supplemental Security Income Day.
- February 8th. Social Security payment day for retirees born between the 1st and 10th of the month.
- February 15th. Administration paid check on this day to pensioners with birthdays between the 11th and 20th of any month.
With these days in mind, we only need to know the day on which pensioners born between the 21st and 31st of the month will be paid. The day chosen by the Administration to send this check is February 22nd. Therefore, next Wednesday is the last of the Social Security checks, thus closing the check mailing calendar for the month of February 2023.
How to receive a check automatically?
There is a way to enjoy the pension money the moment Social Security sends it to us. In order to do so, we need to activate Direct Deposit. It is the fastest, safest and most efficient method. The money appears immediately in our pocket, so we don’t have to wait to be able to pay our bills and make our purchases.
If we do not have Direct Deposit activated, nothing happens, since the Administration will send us the money anyway. The only difference is that the money may take up to 3 days to arrive in our pocket.
Therefore, it doesn’t really matter which collection method we choose, since in the end the money will always reach our pocket. What does affect the decision is the time it takes for Social Security to arrive, but the Administration always sends checks within the same days to pensioners, whether they are Supplemental Security Income, Retirement Pension or Disability Benefit recipients.
