Banks in the United States have a busy day today. For millions of Americans, today is the day they receive their retirement or disability benefits. That means, Social Security pays pension checks to the first of the group of retirees with an accepted benefit. So if you have Social Security and meet a requirement, very soon the bank will have the new money coming in for you.
The maximum check in 2023 is $4,558. However, this amount in Social Security is for age-retired users. In addition to that, it should also be noted that to reach that figure you need to have a retirement backlog. The cheque for disability does not reach such a high amount, since each citizen has his or her own personalized pension.
The amount of money received from Social Security depends on many factors and within the types of benefits, disability users have the smallest margin of extension of this money. However, we can always apply for Supplemental Security Income if our pension is too small.
Who gets the next Social Security payment in the bank?
The Social Security Administration sends the new pension payment today. Banks will be able to have the amount of the check in bank accounts in the next few days. Depending on the bank, the money may arrive up to 3 days after the Administration sends the payment. And to be able to receive this second July payment only one requirement is mandatory.
This requirement is related to the date of birth of the pensioners. In this way, any pensioner born between the 11th and 20th of the month will be able to receive the cheque the next week. This does not mean that the rest of the retirees will not receive their Social Security in July, since they will receive the payment, but in the next few weeks.
More Pension Payments in July
In addition to the July 19th payment for retirees born between the 11th and 20th of the month, there are other more pension payments. One of these payments will be in the week following the next week. Therefore, the payments will be on the 19 of July. Each group of retirees will receive their money on a different day depending on their birthday.
So if you were born between the 1st and 10th of the month, your payment was on the 12 of July. Finally, if you were born between the 21st and 31st of any month, Social Security will send you your benefit on the 26nd of July. With this last payment, the pension check schedule ends for the month of July.
Therefore, after this we will have to wait until next April 12th for the Social Security payment schedule to begin again. As happens every month, the Administration will send the checks on three different days so that the different groups of retirees can receive their benefit.
