August 2023 Social Security payments are now on the calendar. United States citizens collecting a benefit can now find out on which day they will receive their new check.
The payment may arrive on one of four different days. On these 4 days the Social Security Administration will send out payments for age or disability retirement. On the other hand, the Supplemental Security Income payment will also arrive in August, but on a different day.
In total, the payments will arrive on up to 5 different days. The first of these payments will be the Supplemental Security Income payment on August 1st. There are no exceptions to this benefit, so the Administration will send it without delay.
On the other hand, the Social Security retirement payments will arrive on the 3rd, 9th, 16th and 23rd of August. The 3rd day is for retirees with a benefit prior to 1997. Also, these retirees need to watch out because the payment will be on Thursday. This may cause the money to arrive a little late because there is a weekend close by.
As for post-1997 retirees, the Social Security check will arrive for them on the second, third or fourth Wednesday of the month. These are the exact payment days for these groups of beneficiaries:
- August 9th. Retirees born between the 1st and 10th are paid on this day.
- August 16th. The Social Security Administration will send checks on this day to beneficiaries with birthdays between the 11th and 20th of the month.
- August 23rd. Last group to receive the benefit for the month of August. This check is only for retirees with birthdays between the 21st and 31st of the month.
Remember, these are the days when the Social Security Administration will send out the check. Whether or not you receive it on the same day depends on whether you have activated Direct Deposit or another collection method.
