The new Social Security payment for SSDI beneficiaries will arrive in just a few days. Well, at least the United States Administration will send this check to a group of beneficiaries. Receiving it or not will depend on whether or not we are in the particular group and whether or not we have the appropriate collection method activated.
The Social Security Administration sends out SSDI payments on different days each month. In order to keep track of the payment schedule, we just need to know the rules. Once we know the rules that the Administration follows, we will be able to find out at what time of the year we will always receive our benefit.
Even so, we must also know that sometimes there are irregularities in the payments. When these irregularities occur, the calendar changes slightly. But even with these changes, each SSDI beneficiary receives his or her allotted benefits every month. Therefore, there is nothing to worry about in this regard, as we will get our check every month.
The only thing we need to know is at what time of the month we will collect Social Security. But, as we’ve already mentioned, we just need to look at the calendar to find out. Are you in the group that doesn’t get SSDI on the 1st of September?
WHO WILL NOT GET SSDI ON THE 1ST OF SEPTEMBER?
The group that will receive SSDI on September 1st is the 1st to receive SSDI for the entire month. All other retirees, whether on disability or not, will get their benefit on a different day. Retirees who do not collect their check on the next day are as follows:
- Retirees with a post-1997 benefit.
- Retirees who are awaiting full acceptance of their Social Security check.
- Retirees without Direct Deposit.
As for the type of retirement, this information is not important. Only the year of retirement matters in determining who gets a check on the 1st. So beneficiaries with a benefit prior to 1997 will be able to enjoy the check at the beginning of the month.
The rest will have to wait until the 13th, 20th or 27th of September, depending on their birthday.
WHO WILL RECEIVE TWO SOCIAL SECURITY CHECKS ON THE 1ST OF SEPTEMBER?
There is a possibility that a Social Security beneficiary will cash two separate checks on the 1st of September. This is because there is an irregularity in the calendar. Normally, Social Security payments for pre-1997 beneficiaries are due on the 3rd of the month.
But since that day is a weekend, the payment is brought forward to the 1st. For that reason, the Social Security Administration will send two separate checks on the 1st of the month. Those two checks will be SSDI (or any other retirement benefit) and SSI.
Supplemental Security Income is only for Supplemental Security Income recipients. So the retirees who will receive two checks on this day are the ones who have both benefits activated. Add to that the use of Direct Deposit, and the payment will hit the pocketbook immediately.
