The United States Social Security Administration has a number of benefits. Thanks to these benefits, many Americans are able to enjoy a good retirement. While it is true that we should not rely 100% on retirement, it is a good source of money. A large portion of retired Americans lives on benefits alone, which is why they are so important.
If you live in the United States and are due to collect a retirement or disability benefit, you could be getting paid very soon. The second week of December the first Social Security pension payment will be sent out. Therefore, you can start preparing your wallet to get the amount you are entitled to. It depends on the day of your birth, though.
Who gets Social Security Disability first in December?
These payments are not Supplemental Security Income, but Social Security benefits. Not only disabled persons can receive this money, but all persons who are entitled to a pension. The remittance is divided into three separate payments that recipients can receive based on their date of birth. To be more precise, it is the day of the month that determines the week of payment.
This benefit is the same as the retirement pension, although the requirements for each are different. After all, the Social Security Administration does not separate the payments of the two benefits. Therefore, if you are also waiting for your retirement benefit to be paid, you will get it on the same day if you were born between the 1st and 10th of the month. It doesn’t matter whether you are retired or disabled.
Your Disability payment, therefore, may be sent on the following days, depending on your date of birth:
- Second Wednesday of the month: December 14. People born between the 1st and 10th will collect Social Security on this day. It does not matter if for retirement, disability or blindness.
- Third Wednesday of the month: December 21. The SSA will send your pension money to those born between the 11th and 20th of the month.
- Fourth Wednesday of the month: December 28. Last SSA money sent for retirement or disability. On this day, people born between the 21st and 31st will be paid.
On the other hand, SSI payments for December are sent by Social Security on the following days:
- First working day of the month: December 1. SSI payment for the same month.
- Second day: December 30. January SSI payment
Persons entitled to Supplemental Security Income are those who have a very low income. In addition to this, it is also mandatory to be collecting a retirement, disability or blindness benefit. You can check through the BEST tool to see if you are eligible to apply for SSI from Social Security.
In any case, you can always go to an office for help with all the necessary paperwork to apply for a new Social Security payment. This is a good way to make sure that we do not make a mistake in any of the mandatory requirements.
