The Social Security Administration‘s payment schedule in the United States follows a fixed schedule. Thanks to this schedule, beneficiaries can know each month the day on which they will receive their Social Security benefit check.
Each new month has different payment days, but ultimately the pattern that Social Security follows for payments is the same. By knowing the days on which Social Security sends payments, retirees can have maximum control over their finances.
In order to know the day on which Social Security will pay us the check for the month, we only need to check our date of birth. Knowing this specific and personal information, we will have access to the calendar with the day of the retirement check.
Who gets the next Social Security check?
In order to receive a Social Security check this week, you must be born between the 11th and 20th of the month. This means that all retirees with a birthday between these two days are eligible to receive a check on February 15th.
This is good news, as many will appreciate receiving the average check of $1,827 per month that the SSA pays its beneficiaries. In addition, being able to receive this check immediately is possible if we activate Direct Deposit as a payment method. With this way of cashing the check, we won’t have to worry about the money arriving too late.
Remaining Pension Payments in February
The upcoming February 15th payment is not the only check Social Security sends out during the month. In addition to this, it also sent out another check in the second week, as well as a separate check related to Supplemental Security Income. To find out what day you should receive your check this month, here is the calendar:
- February 1st. Supplemental Security Income payment for the month of February.
- February 8th. Second Wednesday of the month. This payment is only for retirees with birthdays between the 1st and 10th of the month.
- February 15th. Next Social Security payment. Only retirees born between the 11th and 20th of the month receive this check.
- February 22nd. Last pension payment for the month of February. Retirees born between the 21st and 31st of the month will have this check in their pocket that day.
And remember that it may take up to 3 days for the check to appear in your bank account if you choose to deposit by this method. Also, it’s good to know that in case of delays you can contact Social Security by calling 1 (800) 772-1213 or going to a local office.
