The Social Security Administration (SSA) has confirmed that no payments will be made between May 5 and May 12. Retirees, disabled individuals, widows, and veterans will have to wait until May 14 to receive their benefits.
May will be one of the months with the latest payment schedule for Social Security this year. However, as is customary, retirees who began receiving benefits before 1997 got their payments early this month—on May 2 instead of the usual 3rd.
Additionally, there’s a double SSI payment this month, since June 1 falls on a Sunday. As a result, that payment will be issued early—on May 30, making it a total of six disbursements by the SSA this month.
