Retirees in the United States who have a benefit can get the new one from the August checks. To do so, it is mandatory to meet the conditions imposed by the Social Security Administration. There are only two conditions and if you meet them the new payment will be for you.
However, if you do not meet these conditions, you do not have to worry about anything. The payment from the Social Security Administration may also arrive in the next few weeks. It all depends on which group of retirees we belong to. If we have a retirement payment, the benefit money will arrive in August.
Conditions for the new Social Security payment in August
The new Social Security Administration payments will arrive in just a few hours to eligible beneficiaries. The retirement payment of this benefit can reach up to $4,873 for those citizens with an age-based retirement benefit. However, citizens retired on Disability can get the payment of up to $3,822 each month.
But if we do not meet the requirements we will not get the money, so let’s see what those conditions are:
- On the one hand, it is mandatory to have applied for the benefit since after May 1997.
- On the other hand, you must have your birthday between the 1st and 10th of the month.
Thanks to being part of this group and activating Direct Deposit, we will have the possibility of receiving this benefit on the same day. If we do not have this collection method activated, the benefit will arrive a little later, but it will arrive just the same.
How many Social Security checks can I get in August?
Aside from the retirement payment, it is certainly possible to get more Social Security checks in August. In fact, a beneficiary who meets certain requirements can get up to three different checks within this month of 2024. This is due to a calendar irregularity.
If you are eligible to get these three checks you should know that two of these payments are fixed in the calendar, but the third check will arrive earlier or later depending on the group of Social Security retirees to which we belong. In this sense, these are all the collection days for the month of August 2024:
- August 1. Supplemental Social Security payment.
- August 2. Retirement check payment for pre-May 1997 beneficiaries.
- August 14. Retirees with benefits after May 1997 who have a birthday between 1 and 10 years old collect on this day.
- August 21. Retirees with a post-May 1997 benefit who have a birthday between the 11th and 20th are paid on this day.
- August 28. Retirees with a benefit after May 1997 who have a birthday between the 21st and the 31st collect on this day.
- August 30. September Supplemental Social Security payment. The payment is early because September 1 is a weekend.
As can be seen, Supplemental Security Income payments arrive on the 1st and 30th of the month. These days are fixed since the Social Security Administration always pays these benefits on the same day to all beneficiaries.
But the day on which we would collect the third of these checks will depend on the group of retirees to which we belong. The payment day can be on the 2nd, 14th, 21st or 28th. Just by checking the requirements we will be able to determine when we will have this new check in August 2024.
