Each different group of Americans can get their United States SSDI payment on a different day. The great thing about being able to know as soon as possible at what time of the month we will get the money is that we can effectively plan our finances. So we should keep this in mind when determining whether or not we will get the new one of the Social Security checks.
Just meeting a couple of requirements is enough to determine if we will get the payment in a couple of weeks. The Social Security Administration divides Social Security and SSDI beneficiaries by year of retirement and day of birth. That way we can know when we will have the retirement money available.
Group of Americans who get SSDI early
While it is true that as of today there are many Americans who already have their August retirement benefit, it is also true that many others have not yet gotten their monthly payment. This monthly payment will be the same amount as in previous months of this year 2024, since we are not yet seeing COLA increases in 2024.
So, to get the next of the SSDI payments we are going to have to wait until August 14th, 2024. On this day, only group 2 retirees can get a Social Security check. And it doesn’t matter if the payment is SSDI or any other type of benefit, but any retirement of any type is valid.
On the other hand, it is also important to keep in mind that there are two requirements that must be met in order to be part of retiree group 2. The first of these requirements is to have a retirement benefit since after May 1997. The second requirement is to have a birthday between the 1st and 10th of any month of the year.
Complete SSDI Schedule for August
Although the retirement payment on the upcoming 14th day is important for that group of beneficiaries we should also keep in mind that there are more payments during the month. In this regard, it can be key to know all the paydays since if we know when the Administration will send out the SSDI check we can plan for the month’s economy.
So, let’s take a look at the full SSDI schedule for August 2024:
- August 1. Social Security supplemental payment.
- August 2. Retirement check payment for pre-May 1997 beneficiaries.
- August 14. Retirees with post-May 1997 benefits who are between 1 and 10 years old collect on this day.
- August 21. Retirees with post-May 1997 benefits whose birthdays are between 11 and 20 years old collect on this day.
- August 28. Retirees with a post-May 1997 benefit whose birthday is between 21 and 31 years old collect on this day.
- August 30. September Social Security supplementary payment. The payment is made earlier because September 1 is a weekend.
As can be seen in the calendar we may even have an extra Supplemental Security Income payment day. If we have the SSDI payment and, in addition, SSI check we will get three different checks before the end of the month.
