With the Social Security Administration‘s payment schedule, United States citizens can find out on what day they receive their Supplemental Security Income checks. This type of payment arrives every month as usual, although there are exceptions. In the event that the Social Security Administration does not send Supplemental Security Income checks one month, it means that we will get them on another day.
Therefore, there is nothing to worry about if it appears that we will not receive Supplemental Security Income in one month. At the end of the year we will always receive a total of 12 SSI payments spread out over the months. So the final amount will always be the same, no matter what day we receive it. This way, the only thing we can do is to get the check earlier, since the Administration will send them earlier in the months of irregularities.
This means that when a month has no Supplemental Security Income payments sent, it will not be a problem. The month before the month with the irregularity we will receive two SSI checks, although the actual dollar amount received will be the same. Here are the months when the Social Security Administration does not send a Supplemental Security Income check in 2023 so that we can get organized.
Months in 2023 without a Supplemental Security Income check
As we’ve discussed before, just because the Social Security Administration doesn’t send out a check these days doesn’t mean citizens won’t receive it. The irregularity in the schedule only means that they will receive the money sooner. Even so, many Americans think that the check is an extra one sent by Social Security, which is not true.
As soon as the 1st of the month falls on a weekend or holiday, the Supplemental Security Income payment is sent on the immediately preceding business day. And this is where the irregularity comes in. The payment is usually made on the last business day of the previous month. For this reason, in the month of July we do not have a check for SSI and it arrived on the last day of June 30th.
These are the months with irregularities in the 2023 calendar:
- January.
- April.
- July.
- October.
United States citizens who have access to the Supplemental Security Income check should know that during those months the payments do not arrive. But they do arrive in the previous month. If they have Direct Deposit activated, these retirees can receive the money instantly.
If they do not have this collection method activated, it is quite possible that the money will not arrive until 3 days later. Therefore, without Direct Deposit the money does not arrive until the actual month of collection. Even so, this maximum check of $914 per month arrives smoothly to all households. That happens whether it is on the 1st of the holiday month or not.
