Stimulus checks may seem to be over, but they are still arriving in United States homes. While it is true that the name has become popular for extra payments, it is still stimulus checks, after all. This time around we are looking at a new check that could reach almost $1,000 in a straight payment.
This new stimulus check will only be sent in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and only to a group of Americans who meet certain requirements. Without meeting these requirements it is impossible for us to receive this new payment to help families in this state.
Even so, we must keep in mind that this is actually a tax rebate, so we can already deduce what the requirements will be more or less.
In order to be able to receive this check, the first condition is to belong to Pennsylvania. If a citizen belongs to this state, he/she is already part of the Americans who could count on this payment of up to 975 dollars in a single stimulus check. But this does not mean that just being from this state is enough to get the payment.
Eligibility for this stimulus check
The stimulus check program is called the Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program and is designed within Pennsylvania. In order to apply for it, these are the main requirements:
- Be over 65 years of age, widowed over 50 or disabled person over 18.
- Have an income equal to or less than $15,000 per year in the case of renters.
- In the case of homeowners, the income must be $35,000 or less.
To all this we have to add that Social Security income does not count in its entirety toward the income limit. Only 50% of what a person acquires through a retirement benefit is added to this account.
Each of the direct payments from this stimulus check changes on a per-citizen basis. So Pennsylvanians can receive a check from $250 to $975. The payment will begin to be sent out next July 1.
If eligible, in just a few days Americans will be able to receive this new stimulus check to use for what they need most. And remember that it is a tax rebate. So it is also necessary to have paid the mandatory taxes for the previous year.
