Disability benefits are sent monthly to beneficiaries in the United States. This is the best method for everyone who collects a Social Security check to receive their money on a monthly basis. This way each of the beneficiaries with a disability can use the money during the month for whatever they need.

However, we must be very clear on what day we collect the disability benefit. Otherwise, we might think that we will receive the money in the next Social Security mailing when we will not. The checks arrive to beneficiaries on up to 4 different days of the month. We need to know what the payment days are in order to have a good financial organization at home.

The first of the April payment days is today, the 3rd. On this day, the Social Security Administration sends out the disability check to a group of retirees. Therefore, if we do not belong to that group of retirees we will not be able to have our check in our pocket today, regardless of the collection method we use.

Which group receives the disability benefit today?

The first group to receive the disability benefit every month is the group of retirees who have had their pension since before 1997. So any beneficiaries who applied for Social Security before that date can receive their benefit today.

Both disability retirees and age pensioners have the opportunity to receive a check today. By activating Direct Deposit they will be able to access the money immediately, so we just use this payment method and we won’t have to wait. Otherwise, it may take up to 3 days for the money to appear in the disabled beneficiary’s bank account.

What is the average Social Security check?

Our benefit category does affect the amount we receive each month. On the one hand, users with disabilities get an average check of $1,358 per month. This does not mean that all retirees with this condition can get a monthly payment of these characteristics.

For age-retired users, Social Security pays about $1,700 per month. There is a fairly large difference in the average check for both payments. Remember that any disability retiree can apply for an age retirement benefit in the future, if it is convenient for that person.

When will Social Security send the rest of the disability checks?

In addition to today’s April 3rd payment, the Social Security Administration will send out other disability checks. In total, there are 3 different days listed on the calendar as payment days for these benefits.

Depending on the birthday, the retiree will be paid on one day or a different day. For example, retirees born between the 1st and 10th of the month will receive their check on the 12th of April.

On the other hand, the 19th of April is for users with disabilities born between the 11th and 20th of the month. The last group is for retirees born between the 21st and 31st of the month, who will cash their check on the 26th of April.
