With the arrival of spring for the entire United States, Social Security payments are welcome. The nice weather invites us not only to be happier, but also to take a walk in the park, have a cup of coffee somewhere or meet up with family. All of this is much easier to do if we have our Social Security benefit check in our pocket on time.
Next April 3rd, the Social Security Administration will send one of these checks to a group of retirees. Not all pension recipients will be able to receive this fantastic check which can be as much as $4,555 per month. The conditions for getting the maximum payment are very strict, but it is entirely possible to get the figure with a good retirement plan.
In any case, all retirees will get their check sooner or later regardless of the amount of the check. That’s one of the nice things about the American Social Security system, and that is that the check can be small, but it can also be quite large. So in order to receive this benefit on the 3rd, you don’t have to have a minimum amount.
In addition to this, it should also be noted that it does not matter the reason for retirement. We can receive a pension for disability, for retirement due to age or for other reasons. The reason for the pension does not change on the day of payment, as the Social Security Administration sends the money to all beneficiaries indifferently.
Who will receive a Social Security check on April 3rd?
The main difference in determining whether we will receive a check on April 3rd is the date of retirement. In this regard, we can separate two large groups within the retirees. These are the two groups:
- Retirees with benefits before 1997.
- Social Security beneficiaries after 1997.
In the case of the first group, checks always arrive on the 3rd day of each month, with some exceptions. On the other hand, beneficiaries who began collecting Social Security after 1997 receive their benefit in the second, third or fourth week of the month. This will depend on their day of birth.
So the group of beneficiaries who will receive their payment on the 3rd of April next is the group of pensioners who have been collecting Social Security since before 1997. This is the only requirement to collect the benefit on the next day.
As for the rest of the pensioners, there are three different groups. The first of these groups will collect their benefit on the 12th day of April. This group is composed of retirees born between the 1st and 10th of the month. The second group is made up of beneficiaries with birthdays between the 11th and 20th of the month and will receive their check on the 19th of April.
Finally, the third group of retirees receiving Social Security will be those born between the 21st and 31st of the month. This group will receive their benefit on the 26th of April. This is the last payment of the month.
