Vitamin D and Mortality Risk Factors
Researchers believe that vitamin and may reduce the mortality risk factors associated with obesity. The deficiency was first discovered in Canada in 1977, when health officials began testing elderly people who were suffering from vitamin d insufficiency for signs of vitamin d insufficiency.

Researchers noted that this finding is the first case of a definite vitamin d deficiency associated with a mortality risk factor.
