Thousands of Americans say goodbye to Summer EBT

Summer EBT can help millions of United States citizens have a little extra money during the summer to buy food

Summer EBT is for kids

Through the USDA, the United States Government announced some time ago an extra Summer EBT payment for children. This so-called Summer EBT was planned to be added to almost every state in the United States.

Therefore, we are talking about a total of 30 million or more children who could get one of these benefits. After all, the main purpose of this benefit is none other than to help low-income families.

The help would come in the summer for a very simple reason. Summer EBT is to alleviate the time when children are out of school. When schools are closed, lunchrooms are not in operation. That is why this financial help plan is so useful.

However, not all Americans will be able to enjoy Summer EBT, which may be bad news for many citizens. However, some states will include this benefit in their financial help.

Which states will not join Summer EBT?

Although the idea is really good and can help thousands of American families, Summer EBT will not be available in all states. Although everything could change between now and the summer, the truth is that some states seem to have decided definitively not to send this benefit.

If you can apply for Summer EBT you will get an extra payment during the summer

These states include Alabama, Oklahoma, Nebraska, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, Vermont and Wyoming. Even so, as we have mentioned, this could change a little before the summer arrives.

For one thing, some other states may not send Summer EBT, just as states on this list may eventually do so. We’ll have to pay attention to the developments to make sure that will ultimately be the case.

How will we get these benefits?

As with SNAP Food Stamps, the Summer EBT benefit will arrive on a preloaded card. This is really useful to be able to go directly to the participating establishments and use it without the need to withdraw cash.

The children chosen for this benefit will have $40 each. This payment will be every single month in the summer of 2024. While it may not seem like a huge benefit, any help is always welcome.

So if Summer EBT is available in your state, you should apply for it as soon as possible. If not, you can always apply for SNAP Food Stamps if you are eligible, as well as any other benefits.
