Millions of retirees who have a Social Security benefit will not collect their next United States pensioner check. This is due to a fundamental requirement, and that is that each group of retiree receives their check at a different time. And in this category it doesn’t matter if our benefit is disability or otherwise.
What is important in these cases is both the date of birth and the year of retirement. These are the most important pieces of information in determining whether or not we will receive our next Social Security check. In any case, it is important to keep in mind that if we have an accepted check, we will receive it sooner or later.
But it is a good idea to know when we can get the next Social Security check in our pocket, regardless of the date. For most retirees, the checks arrive in the second, third or fourth week of the month. But there is another pension payment mailing that is well before those dates. Who doesn’t receive their next Social Security payment?
With some major exceptions, the retirees who do not receive their next Social Security payment are those who retired after 1997. This is because citizens who are pensioners before that date have a different payment day than the rest. And it does not matter their date of birth or if they have a disability benefit.
The important thing in this case is to have applied for the payment to the SSA before the named date. So, if you have a benefit from before 1997, the next Social Security check will be for you. To be exact, this group will collect their benefit on the upcoming April 3rd. This is the usual payment date for this type of retirement.
When do the other groups receive their benefits?
Social Security payments will reach the rest of the retiree groups on different days. The second, third and fourth Wednesdays of the month are the days when beneficiaries will be able to enjoy a new retirement check. And it’s important to note that it doesn’t matter what type of retirement. Either type is good for collecting payment on these days.
- April 12th. Payment for retirees born between the 1st and 10th of the month.
- April 19th. Retirees with birthdays between the 11th and 20th of the month receive their Social Security on this day.
- April 26th. Pensioners with birthdays between the 21st and 31st of the month receive their monthly benefit.
Also note that this is the day Social Security sends out checks. Receiving them at the same time will depend on the collection method you have active. If you have Direct Deposit, the money will arrive instantly in your pocket. If we receive the money by bank transfer, we could wait up to 3 days.
After April 26th seniors will have to wait until May to get next check. Social Security will send more payments in the rest of the months in 2023. If you have a benefit accepted you will get your money monthly with no problem at all.
And remember to activate Direct Deposit in case you want to get the check in your pocket as soon as possible. If you don’t activate this collection method, any Social Security payment could take up to 3 days to appear. Sometimes it may take even longer, depending on the situation.
