As every new month begins, a group of United States citizens will get a new Social Security Supplemental Security Income check. This new check will be mailed this week, but only one group of beneficiaries will be able to enjoy it on the same day it is mailed.
The maximum Supplemental Security Income check is $914 in 2023 and the next check will be the last check of this amount. After this payment, all the checks will have a higher amount thanks to the COLA 2024. Therefore, Americans will be able to enjoy more money thanks to this benefit.
But there is still a month to go before we can get the 2024 COLA benefit, so for now we have to focus on the requirements to get this week’s Supplemental Security Income on time.
By meeting just one requirement, we will be able to enjoy the check on the same day it is mailed. Recipients who do not meet this requirement but have Supplemental Security Income accepted will also get the payment, but not this week, they will have to wait until next week.
WHICH GROUP WILL GET THEIR SUPPLEMENTAL SECURITY INCOME THIS WEEK?
There is only one requirement that must be met in order to receive the Supplemental Security Income payment from Social Security this week. In addition to having the SSI benefit accepted, of course. If we have it accepted, we have already passed the first filter to be able to collect it this week.
If our SSI benefit is in the process of being accepted, we will not be able to collect it this week, since we have to wait until the Administration accepts it and we can see it accepted in My Social Security. For beneficiaries with accepted SSI, we only need to activate Direct Deposit.
Through Direct Deposit we will be able to get immediate payment of this benefit. So we will only have to wait until the 1st of December to get the check. In this same week you will be able to enjoy the payment of up to 914 dollars thanks to the Social Security SSI.
Remember that it is not necessary to justify the expense of this benefit, so we will be able to use the money of this benefit in everything we need. And even if we don’t have the maximum $914 check, we can still collect it.
SOCIAL SECURITY WILL SEND OUT ANOTHER SSI PAYMENT IN DECEMBER
The last Supplemental Security Income payment for 2023 will arrive on December 1st, but that doesn’t mean it will be the last of the December payments. As counterintuitive as it sounds, this is true. We will get another extra SSI payment this month, although it is an irregularity.
On the 29th day of December the Social Security Administration will send a new SSI payment to all recipients with this accepted benefit. This payment is actually the January 2024 SSI check. Therefore, the check will include the 2024 COLA, making the maximum payment $943.
Regardless of the amount, anyone with Direct Deposit will be able to get the payment on this 29th day of December. All other beneficiaries, those who do not have Direct Deposit activated, will receive this Supplemental Security Income in the days following the mailing.
