The payment schedule for United States benefits is always the same. As a usual rule, the Social Security Administration does not change the schedule except for very large exceptions. For this reason, it is normal for the SSA to send the money payment on the 1st of each month, unless that day falls on a weekend or vacation.
The Social Security program is critical for Americans who are retired or have a disability, and this year, the maximum federal SSI payment is $841 per month.
To apply for SSI benefits, basic information such as name, date of birth, and Social Security number must be provided, as well as medical history if applying for disability payments.
The next payment will not be made in October, but at the end of September as October 1 falls on a Saturday.
The remaining payments for 2022 are scheduled for last September 1 and the next ones on September 30, November 1, December 1, December 1, and finally December 30.
States that do not provide supplemental payments
There are certain states that don’t provide supplemental payments. Those are:
- Arizona
- Arkansas
- Mississippi
- North Dakota
- Tennessee
- West Virginia
- Northern Mariana Islands
The SSI Social Security Calendar for 2022
For the rest of the year, the SSI Social Security calendar is now available. As mentioned above, SSA always sends your payment on the first day of every month, unless it’s a holiday or weekend. In this case, the Administration sends the payment on the immediately preceding business day. This is SSI’s payment schedule for the following months:
- September: Day 1 and Day 30 (corresponding to October’s Social Security SSi).
- October: No payment because the first day is the weekend, so payment is sent on September 30th.
- November: 1 day.
- December: 1st of the month and 30th of the month (this payment is for January 2023).
Social Security will send the amount by check on these days, but it may take a while for the amount to appear in your bank account. Wait three days from the date of payment, and if you haven’t received it after this time, ask your bank. Finally, if your bank is unable to help you, go to the nearest SSA office.
