The Department of Revenue in Washington has announced there will be a new Working Families Tax Credit. The amount of the stimulus cheque may depend on the family. The maximum amount though will be up to 1,200 dollars. This amount of money would be essential to help families face soaring prices and skyrocketing inflation.
How many households could benefit from this Stimulus Check?
The number of households that could take advantage of this payment will be higher than 400,000. It will help families that have a low income. So, not everyone could claim it. Moreover, they will also take into account the number of children each family has. So, it is not just based on their income level. If you are just a single person could receive up to 300 dollars.
However, if you have a child you could get 300 dollars extra. Families with 3 or even more children that qualify could get a maximum of 1,200 dollars for the stimulus cheque. On the other hand, the minimum amount that is based on the income of eligible children is 50 dollars. This tax credit is possible because of the hard work of many years.
Could I qualify if I only have an Identification Taxpayer Identification Number?
If you meet all the stimulus cheque requirements, you could be eligible even if you file your taxes with an ITIN. This includes undocumented immigrants and some visa holders. According to the Department of Revenue from Washinton, you must have lived in Washington for at least 183 days in 2022.
The age is also important since you must be between 25 and 65 years old or have a qualifying child last year. Filing a 2022 federal tax return is also essential. The last requirement has to do with being eligible to claim the federal EITC on the 2022 tax return. Meeting all the requirements is mandatory to get the stimulus cheque.
