Stimulus checks: Find out what States will send a Direct Payment up to $1,500

Although the United States Federal State no longer sends stimulus checks directly, many States continue to operate with American Rescue Plan money to help citizens. Depending on the State, an American can receive up to $1,500 if they meet the conditions.

One must always keep in mind that anything related to stimulus check help has very strict requirements. In addition, it is also important to remember that many of the procedures are already closed. Even so, it is a good idea to keep informed about what is happening with these stimulus checks in case in the future the States expand the number of beneficiaries.

There are currently 4 states that can send stimulus checks of up to $1,500. Whether or not you receive them depends on whether you meet the eligibility requirements. Check the list to see if your State is among those that send one of these checks and see if you could apply now or in the future.

Which states will send Stimulus Checks?

As we have already mentioned, the number of states currently sending stimulus checks is 4. Although there may be another one that will send a new one in the future, for now it is best to stick to the information we have.

The states are Georgia, Maine, New Jersey and New Mexico. Each of these states has its own conditions and its own amount of stimulus checks.

Georgia

In this case we are talking about a refund of excess taxes. For single taxpayers, the State will send a stimulus check of $250. For taxpayers with head of household the check will be for $375 and one for $500 will go to married filing jointly.

Remember that it is imperative to have filed the Tax Return for the attorney year 2021 and 200 before April 18. Therefore, if you did not send your Tax Return to the IRS on time you will not be able to receive one of these checks. Although it is not only mandatory to have sent the return, but also not to exceed a certain annual benefit limit.

Maine

Maine’s stimulus checks are called the Emergency Winter Energy Assistance Plan. This plan began in January and payments can range from $450 to $900, depending on the number of taxpayers.

In theory, by March 31, all checks were mailed out. However, as of today some checks may still have yet to be mailed. If we are expecting one of these stimulus checks and have not received it, we can email relief.payment@maine.gov and inquire about the situation.

New Jersey

The Affordable New Jersey Communities for Homeowners and Renters is a housing help program. This state sends out stimulus checks of up to $1,500. The goal is to help all citizens be able to purchase a home at some point in their lives.

To qualify for one of these checks the minimum requirement is to earn no more than $250,000 per year. The checks can be for $1,000 or $1,500, depending on that amount of money coming in each year.

New Mexico

In New Mexico we encounter a tax refund. The state sends checks of up to $500 for single taxpayers. In the case of a couple filing jointly, the stimulus check can be $1,000.

As it usually happens in these cases, the main requirement is that the citizen must have sent the Tax Return on time. To be exact, in this case we find that they must have sent it before May 31, 2024.
