It is important to keep in mind that retiring at this age does not mean having a check of this amount. Each citizen will have a different check depending on his or her work history. That is why we must know how to increase our Social Security check and get what is most convenient for us.

How to increase the average retirement check?

In order to get a check that is larger than average, we will need to maximize our chances. To do this, we must take into account three elements:

A citizen’s work history must have at least 35 years to get a good Social Security check. In addition to that, we must have a good salary during those years worked. These two elements go hand in hand, so don’t leave out either one.

On the other hand, the minimum age to apply for retirement is 62, but that does not mean it is the most suitable. To get a good monthly check, it is mandatory to wait until at least 67 years old. If we want to get the maximum $4,555 check in 2023 we have to wait until 70.

In short, the route to follow to get a good Social Security check is to combine a good salary with 35 years worked. To that we must add applying for retirement pay at age 70. Only then will we have the best possible monthly retirement payment.
